Information
about the Improvements to the BODY RECALL HEADQUARTERS: BODY
RECALL, INC. recently underwent a no-debt (debt-free) building expansion
phase. We
have expanded the Ruth/Bailey training room by 3 times, which gives us space for more than one class simultaneously. The room
accommodates groups as large as Elderhostels (45-50 adult students),
our annual Fitness Festival (approx. 140 adults from all over the
nation), large receptions to increase our community awareness, BODY
RECALL workshops and conferences, regular classes, training weeks and
SPECIAL POPULATIONS training weekends.
Alterations
in the building included the installation of geo-thermal climate
control. 11 wells were dug more than 150 feet deep in preparation. The
high ceilings of the classroom are outfitted with ceiling fans to
assist in air circulation.
Two
special teacher study rooms have been equipped with TV monitors so
when teachers wish to study BODY RECALL incentive pieces privately
while here for training they may enter one of the small rooms and use
the videos that teach, coach and exemplify the materials. We call these
areas Teacher Carrels. One
was donated to the Headquarters building project by EAGLE, Mary E.
Hull. The other was made possible through the generosity of EAGLES Ted and Margaret Wright; all
three were 'travelers' from the early
beginnings of the program. The
six windows are dedicated to the 6 original BODY RECALL BOARD members,
who caught the dream and the help of BODY RECALL by attending regular
classes and traveling with Dorothy Chrisman throughout the nation.
They are EAGLES, Mim Tallmadge (Mim was Secretary from the beginning until her death in 1998) Lillie Mae
Walters, Treasurer, Mr. and Mrs. Al Perrin (Jean Perrin was
VicePresident), Dorothy Gates, MD (Medical advisor), Mr. and Mrs. John
D. Chrisman (Dorothy Chrisman is Founder and President, and Chairman
of the Board), and Ted Wright (original Treasurer before becoming an
advisor to the Board). An observation room, which doubles as a storage room, is located on the second level overlooking the full classroom floor area. Two photographer's platforms extend out from this room for unobstructed filming.
